Sue Vincent
Vincent’s first
recollection of playing softball came as an 8-year-old girl in
Aberdeen. She played on various teams throughout her teen years, as
a pitcher and fielder.
During one State After moving to
Tacoma in 1971, Sue played first base for Pizza Pete, coached by
Bill Hebert. From 1972-8l, she played for one team that had three
different sponsors: Creekwater Dispensary, B&E Tavern, and B.J.'s
All Stars, all coached by Joyce Wolf.
She finished her playing career in 1982 with B&I Sports
coached by Carl Lopez. Sue earned all-star
selection in many tournaments, including the 1972 and 1973
Regionals, and she was twice voted MVP of major tournaments. With a
lifetime batting average of .450, she helped her team win Regionals,
and qualify for Nationals on four occasions. During the off-season she played basketball, and after hanging up her softball glove, golf became her passion which she enjoys today. Sue now spends her winters in Arizona, soaking up the winter sun.
